I always love the buzz of a new book being unleashed upon the world – and today (26 March) is publication day for THE LAST ONE TO SEE HIM.

What’s it about?
After separating from her husband, Kate goes on a night out with a friend and meets Jamie. They hit it off, and she ends up spending the night with him. He’s kind and charming, and recently separated from his wife. Even though Kate’s not looking for a new relationship, she agrees to see him the next day (of course she does, otherwise it would make for a very short book!)
What could possibly go wrong?
Turning up the next day, Kate finds Jamie’s dead body.
As if that’s no bad enough, she soon realises that Harper, a new mum at the school, is Jamie’s wife…
Does Harper know about Kate and her past? Did she plan for Kate to meet her husband?

What I loved about writing this book
So many twists and turns – some of them even took me by surprise!
What I found challenging
Having to significantly cut down a minor character’s part (which was absolutely necessary!) What author doesn’t love a huge structural edit that has you tearing your hair out?
How will I celebrate publication day?
A champagne lunch? A day off to myself while the kids are at school? Nope – today I’ll be… writing!
The truth is, eighteen books in, it feels a bit strange to celebrate every publication day. But today I’ll definitely be spending a moment to reflect on how grateful I am that I get to do what I love every day (at least until AI puts me out of a job! 😬)
